Whitefield Forest Touring Park. Ryde,Isle of Wight.ENVIRONMENT . . .
In developing the campsite we have worked closely with the Forestry Commission. Our aims have been to maintain the natural beauty of the forest, encouraging the growth of species native to this area of the Isle of Wight and to encourage wildlife, providing them with a safe, natural habitat whilst also providing a campsite of the highest quality for your enjoyment.

Red squirrels are common within Whitefield Forest. In an effort to maintain their environment we have left large areas on the outskirts of the forest untouched, provided them with special squirrel feeders and kept crossing points for the red squirrels to get around the site avoiding the roads to ensure this endangered species can prosper in our forest environment. Sit quiet and still for any length of time and you are bound to see one for yourself.
There are also a number of species of birds that can be spotted around the campsite and bird hides on the outskirts of the forest to allow opportunities for bird watching.
The forest is home to many types of flora, including a range of wild flowers, such as primroses, snowdrops, bluebells and wild orchids. We have encouraged and nurtured these natural plants whilst enhancing the environment with our own planting.
