Access Statement

Whitefield Forest Touring Park is set in the picturesque ancient woodland of Whitefield Forest on the outskirts of Ryde, we welcome visitors with their own motorhome, touring caravan or tent. The camping park has 80 spacious pitches which are a mixture of all-weather gravel hardstandings and grass pitches all with electric hook-up points (16amp).
There is a 5mph speed limit on the whole park, cars are parked next to each pitch and each pitch is accessed by the network of gravel roads.

Arrival: Parking is available outside the reception for new arrivals and access to the reception is via a ramp. On arrival each guest will be given a copy of our welcome leaflet and after booking in will be shown to their pitch.

Assistance: If at any time during your stay you feel that you need help please mention it to any member of staff who will be pleased to assist.

Bus: The nearest bus stop is 100 meters from the site entrance which allows access to the Island bus network.

Train: The nearest train station is at Ryde where it is possible to access the short railway between Ryde and Shanklin.

Amenities: The reception and amenity blocks are fully lit at night along with low level lighting on all paths and roads which are constructed from compacted gravel.

Disabled Facility: Within the amenity block we have a purpose built disabled room which is accessed via a small ramp and parking is available close by. We will allocate persons a pitch close to the disabled facility if requested at the time of booking.
The room is fitted with the appropriate grab rails and alarm for the occupants use.

Assistance Dogs: are welcome on the park.

Wheelchairs: can be loaned from the Red Cross (01983 753152) or hired from Island Mobility (01983 530000). Please note that our roads and paths are mainly constructed from compacted gravel.

Emergencies: Reception is open from 9am to 5pm and there is a 24 hour emergency 999 phone located on the site.

Mobile Phone: Vodaphone and Orange  reception is good on the park.

Whitefield Forest Touring Park is a family business owned and run by

Pat, Simon and Louise Glover.

At Whitefield Forest our aim is to provide you with a friendly and peaceful environment where you can fully relax during your stay with us.

We aim to be on hand to help you with any enquiries you may have and assist you in any way we can to ensure you have a pleasant holiday experience with us. We want to ensure you will return and tell your friends about us too!

Our touring park is well located between the sandy beaches of Ryde and Sandown and other Island attractions are easily accessible either by car or bus. There are bus stops just outside Whitefield Forest Touring Park which will take you in either direction towards Sandown or Ryde.

We are situated in an area which has a number of public footpaths and bridal ways allowing access to the surrounding countryside and coastline allowing our guests to enjoy a variety of walks or cycle rides.

Our touring park is unique to the island with its forest setting and terraced pitches. Many of our guests have described our toilet and shower block as 'luxury!' We have achieved five pennants from the AA, five stars from Quality in Tourism and have been named the AA Campsite of the year for the South East Regoin 2010.
